The HSM library supplied Post Processor for Grbl includes bad gcodes

The generic grbl/Grbl Post Processor from the AutoDesk HSM Post Processor library and the gcode is generates is clearly incorrect. For starters the % line at the beginning and end of the file is not supported by Grbl, nor is the M06 command, and the M30 at the end of the file should really be a M05.  The popular Gcode senders used with Grbl have had to work around this by ignoring the errors the invalid codes generate, but the codes aren't correct for any version of Grbl.

This is an easy fix and the most upstream provider of the post processor (Autodesk/HSM) providing a correct version would save a lot of problems for users who are currently working around it.

For example M30 is supported by GRBL.

So that is fine to close up the program with that. As it needs to know program end and reset.

One could argue due to the way grbl forgot to force a spindle stop within M30 as well you want a M5 before that. But the M30 definitely should go there.

Apparently only very recent versions of Grbl support M30 so Gcode senders such as Universal Gcode Sender have code to strip it out. Or if someone has a slightly backlevel Grbl and tries to use a more strict Gcode sender like PicSender they will get an error and the spindle will not stop. So for sure M5 should be added before the M30, but M30 should probably be optional defaulting to off since the only people that would care would be people who added cooling and even then a more specific cooking off code would be preferable than a general reset.

M9 turns coolant off 

• 0xA0 : Toggle Flood Coolant

  • Toggles flood coolant state and output pin until the next toggle or g-code command alters it.
  • May be commanded at any time while in IDLE, RUN, or HOLD states. It is otherwise ignored.
  • This override directly changes the coolant modal state in the g-code parser. Grbl will continue to operate normally like it received and executed an M8 or M9 g-code command.
  • When $G g-code parser state is queried, the toggle override change will be reflected by an M8 enabled or disabled with an M9 or not appearing when M7 is present.

• 0xA1 : Toggle Mist Coolant

  • Enabled by ENABLE_M7 compile-time option. Default is disabled.
  • Toggles mist coolant state and output pin until the next toggle or g-code command alters it.
  • May be commanded at any time while in IDLE, RUN, or HOLD states. It is otherwise ignored.
  • This override directly changes the coolant modal state in the g-code parser. Grbl will continue to operate normally like it received and executed an M7 or M9 g-code command.
  • When $G g-code parser state is queried, the toggle override change will be reflected by an M7 enabled or disabled with an M9 or not appearing when M8 is present.
