Revolve & Centerline selection behaviour with multiple profiles

When a centerline is in the sketch Fusion automatically adds the centerline to the Revolve Axis selection. Which is generally great, however, when a centerline is selected as Axis I can no longer add another profile to the profile list, except when I hold down the Ctrl-key.

That's fine but it's not quite in line with the normal selection behaviour of the 'create functions'. I have been strugling a few times before I noticed that I will need the Ctrl-key.  I feel like this is not super user friendly behaviour.

Hi,

I have tested it several times.
When creating the rotation element you have to select all elements first and only then the axis. If you forget something, you have to start the process completely from the beginning.

Maybe create a screencast and show your process.

Hi Günther,

Thank you for your reply. I've created a quick screen grab:

Note that the axis is selected automatically and not by the user. I believe this only happens when the Axis line is also bounding the selected profile.

Kind regards

in one way, this is consistent behavior.  Any time that Fusion shows a preview, CTRL (CMD on Mac) is required to add to any selection.  So, because a preview is shown, you'll have to use CTRL to add more profiles.

However, you are correct - the behavior of auto-selecting the centerline is inconsistent, and does seem to be related to whether the centerline is included in the profile.  That seems wrong to me - let me investigate that further...

I see, it was indeed like that before. I guess I've never noticed this before but it is still different from the extrusion and loft command; when the extrusion command shows a 3d model I can select new profiles without using the CTRL-key.

It's obviously not a problem, but with any of the other commands the interface feels different.
With this new option I select the first profile, then I will need to select an option to be able to select more profiles and then select the new ones holding CTRL.

Though again, not a problem at all. Just noticed this.

Ctrl is a modify key if you miss something in a selection the Ctrl key lets you add it.

@jeff_strater  If this is going to be changed could it be set in preferences as the way it work now with auto selection would work better for me 90% of the time. Or make it work like extrude where you can add to the selection even though there's a preview.

Thanks Mark

Edit. Would also be nice if the centreline is auto selected even if it's not part of the profile.
