Protein engine server stopped working

Hello,

In a school environment, students trying to launch Fusion 360 get the message "Protein engine server stopped working" and the application immediately crashes. It has been working previously. This is on Windows 7, 64bit.

Has anybody else come across this error and managed to resolve it?

Hi @a.harvey3JUP2,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Sorry to hear that! Just to check - does this happen on all lab machines, and for all users (including one with admin level permissions)? Has anything changed recently, such as a recent update to Fusion that was pushed through. When you crash, does it produce a crash error report that you can send to Autodesk, or does it just exit out with no message.

Can you please collect the application and web services log files from one of the problematic computers per this guide here. I'm curious if this has more information in it.

Thanks,

Thanks for the response. It was only happening on one machine for non-admin users. Clearing the old installation and reinstalling of the software fixed the error.
