Metric Trapezoidal Threads Form wrong

April's what's new said Metric Trapezoidal Threads had been fixed but the form is totally wrong! You might have fixed the angle but the profile is obviously wrong.

Here's an example, pretty obvious the threads on the right are wrong, the thread on the left is an imperial acme thread that looks right, probably isn't though, see links below.

There was another post here about the form of ordinary threads having the wrong pitch diameter as well. With these errors you really need to get an engineer who understands threads to check and fix what Fusion is producing. From my tests all metric normal threads, internal and external are wrong, haven't checked the imperial ones but if there are calculated the same way they will be wrong as well.

Some of us need to create drawings to enable measuring threads using wires and Fusion's modeled threads should make this easy but as the forms wrong it's back to manually drawing again. I first reported this problem back at the beginning of 2017 in this thread,  also see this thread for more details.

Hi @HughesTooling ,

Thanks for reporting this, and being diligent on this topic. There is no excuse - these should be correct. I'm escalating this directly with our product management and development team, to see what might be going on.

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous ,

I want to say this fix already went live. Are you seeing the old results? Can you confirm you are on the latest version of Fusion.

Thanks,

@James.Youmatz  Quick test and still wrong. Below I've created an acme thread for comparison and it obvious the metric trapezoidal thread is incorrect. I'm using version 6045

Thanks for testing. I asked the team for an update (as I may have just read the ticket wrong). Let me see what they say.

Thanks,
