Fusion 360 Product Design Extension: Daily Access

Hello, 

I am interested in using the Product Design Extension, but it is too expensive for full unlock. I am considering using Daily Access when I need to use the features. 

I understand how to unlock it using tokens, but what happens to my file? If I build a product and use the Product Design Extension to place advantage features, like the snap-fit feature, can the file now only be accessed when I have the extension unlocked? Or will I not be able to make any changes to the advanced feature but still have access to the rest of the file and be able to modify it?

I think your first issue to tackle is that the Fusion 360 Product Design Extension is NOT available using Tokens. 

Some of the extensions are such as Nesting and Fabrication, I wish all were.

The Product Design Extension is available to be purchased via Tokens (see our Flex Rate Sheet) . I'm unsure off the top of my head why you do not see it @jhackney1972 , has it always been like this for you?

To answer your question @bertobuilder , what will happen is you will be able to use those features like Snap-Fit etc during the duration of the Extension being active. As soon as it is inactive, you can still access and use the file, but editing the features which are only available in PDExt will not be available without purchasing the Extension again. The features will still exist in the file however.

Yes, the only Extensions, using the drop down Extension Panel, that can be purchased on a Daily basis are: Additive Build, Machining and Nesting and Fabrication.  I would expect not to see Manage in this list as it is of little use for day to day operations.  I would love to have access to Product Design on a Credits (Tokens) basic.  I use the Nesting and Fabrication extension quite often using credits.

Can you shoot me an email or DM? I'd love to peek into your account. You definitely can buy PDE with Tokens, and I just tested on my comp.

You are correct about Manage, this is not offered per day. As you said, wouldn't make much sense.
