I report this issue, I think it is a bug:
1 - I created two files (in the first one there is a cube and in the second one a cilinder).
2 - I set a "joint origin" in each files onto a single object.
3 - I imported one file in the other
4 - Set a joint between the two object (no components created).
5 - As soon as I try to create a component from the body jointed with the imported one, Fusion crashes.

Without the file, or seeing it
Technically the existing file (3) you have - has a component at the top level.
All steps except 5 are ok,
Trying to take a body in a Jointed component at top level and use it in another new Component,
Yeah not surprised you can crash it.
Hi günther,
thanks for the reply.
This is the screencast I recorded just now.
Thanks again,
Enzo
Hi davebYYPCU,
the workaround for me is to delete all joint origins and joint, the conver it to body and then create new joints.
I had this issue on a very complex design, so the best solution was clearing the joint origins and recreate them after the component creation.
Fusion360 shouldn't crash... it should alert about the not correct action required.

Enzo
thank you, @vpgguitars for the easily reproducible crash instructions. I agree that Fusion should not crash, and we will investigate this sequence and fix it. I've created FUS-63544 to track this issue.
Hi @vpgguitars , this crash should be fixed with June 2020 release
Please let us know if you are still able to reproduce this.
Thanks!
