Hi,

Sorry to hear of the trouble.

The log does indeed reference network connection issues. Are you able to access the internet via a web browser?

Was the computer set up to work via the school network? These usually do use a proxy service of some type.

If so, have you disabled the proxy? Can you also check to see if there's an environment variable that could be interfering? This would be HTTP_PROXY. If being used, remove it and retry.

Also, could your Hosts file be redirecting things? This file is located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and can be viewed with Notepad. Lines that start with a "#" are not executed. If you have anything that doesn't start with # try adding the pound sign to these lines and save the file.

Can you also see if you have SmartScreen enabled? This might interfere as well.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply! Some time after posting this question I had the idea to search for offline installs because my home internet was fine, a bit slow for my taste (around 4Mbps), but all was still working. Downloaded the admin install and it installed no problem, so I still dont know what was preventing my installation, I do not know what smartscreen is, I had no proxy server etc.

Thanks for help anyway!
