Crashes almost every time I close a tab

I'm only a hobbyist but there must be something seriously wrong here. 90% of the time I close a tab Fusion crashes and sends a report back home. Someone in support must be noticing all these reports? There does not seem to be anything I can do. I recently had to renew my free access and downloaded the latest software. No change.

Good day @paultynan89,

Have you tried to reset Fusion 360 using the Service Utility?

I can't remember the last time Fusion crashed on me.

@paultynan89

What are your system specs (surprised that it did not occur to you to include this information in your problem description). Wouldn't that be considered the most basic of information in a case like this?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d of a typical file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Thanks all. I am using a one month old 13 inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip and 8 gb of memory. I never heard of the Service Utility  before. But I used it and chose the Repair option. It improved things such that it seems that only one big ugly file I have  crashes Fusion when I close it. I could use the Reset option but the description says to use it when I have launch problems. I don't have problems launching. Since I have moved on from the big ugly file, I think I will leave things alone. I have been sending reports when it crashes.

@paultynan89

Are you using computationally efficient modeling techniques?

1. All sketches fully defined (no blue lines or white dots).

2. Are you avoiding sketch patterns and instead using Feature or body patterns?

3. If using Move are you using correctly (Move is almost always the wrong move as used by beginners)?

4. Are there any unresolved issues highlighted in red or yellow in your timeline?

Here are my responses:

1. This is a huge file. It's the model of a custom car including frame, suspension, body, etc. I usually fully define my sketches but I see warnings associated with some of them. Sometimes, for a quick sketch, I get lazy and don't fully define it.

2. Did not know this was a good practice. I usually use features and bodies for patterns but probably have done it in the sketches as well.  Good tip.

3. Not sure what is a good or bad move. I try to use joints rather than just move stuff.

4. Yes, but, as I said I think I will just move on from this file rather than fix it. All this you mention is probably the reason it is causing trouble. Will be more careful in the future. The file has served its purpose. Not I pulled the body of the car out and made a separate file of it to prepare it for 3D printing. This file is clean and acting OK.
