Control point spline editing challenges.

There's a post here showing a problem with a spline used in a circular pattern. I thought I try using a control point spline as a workaround but ran into some problems setting it up and editing.

The first challenge was applying the constraints. I know sometimes adding constraints in the wrong order can turn your sketch into a kaleidoscope but the way the symmetry constraints flip while adding tangent constraints seems wrong. Also while editing you get sudden changes you can't get back from without using undo, all seems a bit chaotic. File's attached. Editing after patterning is pretty unstable as well.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for reporting the issue! I have been taking a look at this and getting random results for some reason. Adding constraints flips a spline and sometimes does not. I'll keep investigating and report it to the development.

Also, is it any easier if you use the Move command instead of dragging the sketch point?

Hi @masa.minohara, thanks for looking at this.

I also meant to ask should adding these 2 dimensions make editing the spline impossible? To me it looks like you should still be able to adjust the 2 outer points near the bigger circle.

Hi Mark,

I think the existing two tangent constraints plus two dimensions make the spline fully constrained, and that seems to be correct to me. I'll check with internal folks just in case, and follow up here if I'm missing anything.
