[BUGS] No spline tangency to trimmed ellipse

The screencast shows the tangency issue but also the issue arising when an ellipse is trimmed, which is a process that also seems oddly cumbersome. After trimming I also have not fund a way to constrain the rotation of the ellipse as the trimming operation deletes the main axes.

I noticed these odd behaviors as well. Something is not stable in the sketch environment.
Sometimes when I constraint one geometry to another, one of them is going completely crazy, so I'm forced to use the Fix on one of them and then use the constraint.
Unfortunately, I developed an instinct to find a workaround immediately, so I never get to report most of the odd behaviors that I encounter.

Yep, many of those instabilities have to do with splines and G1/G2 constraints.

This particular one I have seen in a number of other instances. Constraint applied. The symbol shows up. But you can still freely move the tangent handle 😕

Last year I made this bug report. there are literally three bugs ins a single, simple sketch!

A few weeks prior to that I made a post called spline tangency constraint utterly broken. Apparently it still is!

I've only become aware of how accustomed I've gotten to work around these bugs when I started more seriously working in surfacing with my other CAD workhorse ZW3D where that stuff just works and I can complete a project without having to resort to convoluted workarounds.

That does not mean that ZW3D does not have bugs or that it will replace Fusion 360, but it does mean that I have another very capable and in many aspects more mature tool to compare it with.

I wonder why they have neglected the Sketch and Modeling environments!? With all due respect to the other environments, everything starts with 2D and then 3D 🤔
We have talked about it a long time ago that those 2 environments still need a lot more development. I haven't figure out the strategy yet.

Just remembered another odd behavior I have found last week - if I made a change to a sketch, suddenly I get a yellow warning in the Timeline on some surface features for no reason. To fix it, I have to open the features (it could be a Loft or a Swip), click OK and then the yellow warning is gone.

If they don't have resources and time to fix those problems, so what's the point reporting them. I think it's crazy that you need to work with a mother software because to that 😠

I have a lot more to say, but it's better not to say it here! Maybe we should have a Zoom meeting in EE group.

I think you know the answer, but I'll say it out loud:  Ellipses have never been well-supported by the sketch solver.  These are known bugs, and will be fixed at some point.
