The checkboxes for "Update diameter offsets" and "Update Length offsets" are switched (mixed up)
To make it renumber/update only the diameter offsets, you must check the "Update length offsets" checkbox.
To make renumber/update only the length offsets, you must check the "Update diameter offsets" checkbox.
The third checkbox "Update Compensation Offset" seems to have no effect. What does it do?
I found this because I'm trying to program an old Matsuura with a Yasnac MX1 controller (from the 1980's). The tool length offsets and diameter offsets are stored in the same table with shared tool numbers. The convention is to put the length offset for tool one into slot 1 (H1) and the diameter offset into slot 31 (D31). H1 and D1 are the same numbers in the same table so you can't use H1 and D1 on the same tool.
So for tool 1, I need it to be tool 1, length offset 1, and diameter offset 31.
tool 2, length offset 2, diameter offset 32, etc.
I can make the current tool renumber dialog to this, but it's really awkward,
I have to first renumber my tools starting with 31. That sets the diameters correctly
Then I renumber a second time starting with 1, to get the tool and lengths correct. But I don't want the diameter updated. So yo would think I should turn off the "update diameter" checkbox. But to make this work, I actually have to turn off the "update length" checkbox.
Not a huge issue because I can just set the tool offset values by hand and make it all work. Or just use "in computer" compensation and not use the offsets stored in the machine at all. This is an old machine being used by a few people in a maker space so it's not a critical production issue at all. Just wanted to let you know the dialog was broken...
I'm running on a Mac BTW. On the about screen there's a 2.0.3800 that looks like it might be a version number?
