Blank Screen/Fusion 360 Not Working

Blank Screen/Fusion 360 Not Working

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have uninstalled and done a clean reinstall multiple times as well as going to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk and deleting all related files I have been told to. I have also gone into the performance tools on my windows and adjusted the settings to run and "adjust for best performance".

The screen that comes up when I launch Fusion is attached. As you can see, the menu items aren't on there so I can check the graphics, etc.

Anyone have any advice on what more I can do?

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! We are sorry to hear that you have been unable to access Fusion 360.

When you uninstalled and reinstalled Fusion, did you use the clean uninstall utility tool? If you did not, it may be worth trying to use the tool at this link and reinstall Fusion. Also, have you disabled any antivirus and firewall software present on your system to ensure it is not interfering with Fusion?

Also, are you certain that your graphics drivers are up-to-date? You can find your graphics drivers in your computers system information, which can be accessed without opening Fusion. I usually update my graphics drivers twice a year to keep Fusion running well - please confirm that you are on the latest version for your system and update as necessary.

Also, you could try deleting the loginstate.xml file to see if it will resolve this behavior. Please refer to the instructions below to delete this file:
Windows
1. (Close Fusion 360) In windows explorer browse to  %localappdata%\autodesk\web services
2. In the Web Services directory, right lick on the LoginState.xml file and select delete
3. Restart Fusion 360

Hopefully this helps! If you are still unable to launch Fusion 360 please gather your log files and attach them to this forum thread - I am happy to have a look! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Please let me know how you go with this. I have the same issue. I was uploading a dwg file and after that it crashed and I have had the same screen come up since.

I have tried a fresh install and haven't had any luck as yet.

Thanks

Hi @richard

Thanks for posting! I am sorry to hear that you have also been experiencing this issue. My first thought would be out-of-date graphics drivers - I usually update mine twice a year to avoid problems with Fusion. While the graphics drivers should not be causing the DWG crash, they may be the cause of the grey screen. Please update the drivers to the latest version and let me know if that resolves this issue.

If it does not, please gather your log files using this procedure and attach them to this forum thread - I am happy to have a look!

This fixes the issue, which happens every few days for me (so much so that I actually have a batch file I can click to sort it for me). This happened both before and after a completely clean OS install due to hardware upgrade, so there's definitely something screwy going on.

The clean install works for me as well, but what is it that causes this issue? I have to do an uninstall and reinstall just about once a week.
