Unable to create flange

Just got signed up for the preview of sheet metal, so maybe I'm doing something wrong? I have a 1.5mm thick circle and I'm trying to create a flange inside of the squares. See image. 

How to do this correctly? I added a rule for steel that is 1.5mm thick and also spec'd the model as steel material. When clicking the flange feature, it doesn't let me select any edges to flange. Any tips?

I have created a video that demonstrates how to create a flange based off of the image you provided.  One thing to pay attention to in the video is making a flange that is larger than what can be manufactured.  In the preview we do not have the waring message completed, so when you do an unfold you will not be able to select ok.

And is it possible to somehow create ribs for bent metal?

Can you share an image of what you are intending on designing, I am not sure I fully understand you question.

Thank you for the pictures, punches such as stiffeners will not be a part of our initial release.  This is not to say that we are never going to add them and is one area I am looking to get feedback on from the community.
