Internal lathe threading issue

On the same component, using the same threading tool - for 1/2" BSPP - external thread simulates and cuts on lathe correctly. Internal thread does not - flattens the thread tops too much.

"Flattens the tops too much". Are you referring to what you see in Simulation, or at the machine?

If at the machine, does the part take the gage properly?

If you're talking about the simulation take a look at this post. It looks like there's a problem with no relief on the modeled tip so it looks like it is removing too much material from the minor diameter. This would only show on internal threads.
