Hole Chamfer Problem

When I go to chamfer a drilled hole in Fusion the program will break the hole into segments.  The part I am currently working on has 3 holes drilled and there is no chamfer in the model.  When I did side one the holes were perfect one move around the hole and its chamfered.  When I do side 2 it does one hole in one move and breaks the other 2 hole into one half hole segments.

I have attached the model.  What gives??

Thanks.

Chamfer has broken again. Use 2D Contour.

-EDIT-

You can also open up the tolerance to .001" and it will go through just fine.

Seth,

Thanks for the reply.  You think I would remember that. As always you're spot on.

Thanks Alan

No, never "Always". I make a ton of errors 🙂

It even goes further than just the chamfer.

The issue bleeds into cam as well.

My proven Cam program where I was spotting the holes by selecting the chamfers on the holes and it goes into a yellow caution.

And now I can't even re select what I once was doing.

Hello,

it seems that the 6/2020 release (2.0.8560) has the same problem. I checked the model and it is happening with mine too.

@lubos.ulovec do you have a file you can share so we better understand what you are dealing with?
Right click on the file in the Data Panel and select "Share Public Link". Paste that link here (make sure the toggle is set to "Allow downloading"

Hello Seth,

thanks for the follow up. File is here: https://a360.co/3ijawQ6

In the cam you will find operation 2 for 2D contour as a chamfer which works and operation 3 chamfer which does not work, it will not chamfer the entire hole regardless the settings I tried:chamfer.jpg

The original model is bigger so I trimmed it with these examples but some holes actually got fully chamfered but in other cases they don't. I tried to erase the hole feature and make a new one with sometimes better and sometimes worse result. As said below the solution for now is to use the 2D contour but it is confusing. Thanks for your help.

The tolerance is too tight. If we open it up to .076mm (.003") they generate as expected:

yes you are right! Thank you. Still strange is some holes of the same diameter make it correctly with tighter tolerance and other don't . Even on the picture I shared you can see despite both holes having the same diameter of 6.8mm one chamfer made ~180 deg of the entire circle and the other made ~200 deg. But anyway, I can live with that, learning every day. And forgetting too 😉 Thanks for your support.

Having the same problem right now.  Had to up the tolerance to .1"  to get it to generate without gaps....

@info .1"?! Holy crap, that's a lot. Can you share your file?
File > Export > Save to local folder. Return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

There are several tickets open to investigate this issue. I've added your file to the list, hopefully we can see this resolved at some point...
