Post Processor and Machine Simulation What’s New
Looking for the latest post processors and machines updates? Look no further!
We are continually working hard to bring you updates and improvements to the many open-source Post Processors and Machines we offer for free, but those updates often get lost in the shuffle of other enhancements or big feature releases. This post aims to update you on newly added or improved post processors and machines, so you can stay up to date on what you use today or look for news so you can get the most out of Fusion 360.
This post will get refreshed with notable updates as they’re released, and you can click each hyperlink to go to the mentioned post. As always, you can find the latest in our post processor offering on the Online Post Library where you can search by vendor, type, or name, and see any recent changes to each post processor.

1. New Post Processors
Milling Post Processors
Added a new post processor for Tormach Jet machines.
2. Improved Post Processors
We are always working to keep post processors up to date with new technologies. This is a summary of the main improvements made to post processors already in the library.
Generic Post Processors
- Added support for drilling with feed per revolution in all Haas post processors.
- Forced various G-codes after optional line output in all Haas post processors.
Milling Post Processors
- Force various G-codes after an optional section.
- Linearization around the singularity no longer generates rotary positions outside of their defined range.
Added option to output drilling cycles using W#89 blocks instead of W#81 blocks in the Felder Profit post processor.
Haas GM2-5AX, Haas VR-8, Haas VR-9, Haas VR-11, Haas VR-14
Added the "Home position center" property to the Haas VR-xx post processors.
Moved cutter compensation code in ProtoTRAK mill post processor.
Fixed the pitch output for tapping cycles in the Selca post processor.
Siemens SINUMERIK 840C, Siemens SINUMERIK 840D, Siemens SINUMERIK 840D Inspection
- Fixed issues with the CYCLE832 output in the Siemens post processors.
- Added parameter FR_I in CYCLE800.
Siemens SINUMERIK 802D, Siemens SINUMERIK 808D, Siemens SINUMERIK 810D, Siemens SINUMERIK 840C, Siemens SINUMERIK 840D, Siemens SINUMERIK 840D Inspection
Fixed D1 definition for tool compensation in Siemens post processors.
Added the "Standard" material type to the Sodick post processor.
Turning Post Processors
Added the 'Only on tool change' option to the 'Use sequence numbers' property.
Mill-Turn Post Processors
Fixed G2/G3 and G41/G42 on secondary spindle in generic mill-turn post processors.
The Doosan Mill/Turn post no longer enables the C-axis (M35) prior to unclamping it in a turning operation.
Mazak Integrex i-100, Mazak Integrex i-100S, Mazak Integrex i-200, Mazak Integrex i-200S, Mazak Integrex i-300, Mazak Integrex i-300S, Mazak Integrex i-400, Mazak Integrex i-400S
Fixed G2/G3 and G41/G42 on secondary spindle in generic mill-turn post processors.
Milling and Waterjet/Laser/Plasma Post Processors
The correct ending circular angle is now outputted when the merging of circles has been enabled in the DXF post processor.
3. New Machines
Machine Library
The Machine Library lets you manage your machine tools by using Machine Configurations to define your available machines and resources. These configurations can automate the settings in your Job Setup.
There are many Machine Configurations available in the standard library.
You will have available configuration files for some of the leading machine manufacturers:
The easiest way to get started, is to copy an existing configuration that matches some of the characteristics of your machine.
4. Improved Machines
Adding the missing images to the Desktop Metal machine configuration files.
5. Post Processor Engine
Our development team is always working to update and fix the Autodesk CAM Post Processor engine. These modifications are not related to a specific postprocessor (as described above) but affect the entire library or at least the post processors using that specific class. The current post processor kernel is 4.5930.
CreateOutputVariable should not force the output of a variable if it doesn’t change its value.
It works as a modal function.
The section.getABCByPreference function now returns the correct rotary axis position
even when a single rotary axis is defined in the machine configuration.
Added a standard group for the operation post properties.
Remember you can find here all the information regarding the Autodesk CAM Post Processor engine.
