create simple text

I have been trying to create a simple text item to cut on my cnc. I have tried following the videos and other instructions on here but it never looks like the examples and I cannot get it to work. I create a Sketch and then a text box but am not able to select the Sketch to extrude or do anything else with the text. I have tried watching multiple videos online as well and cannot find a complete walk through that helps or is accurate with the newer version of Fusion 360. I appreciate any assistance as this has become extremely frustrating for what should be a simple project.

Thank you for your response. I don't have a file to send. I don't know how to create a file. I am looking for accurate step by step instructions for creating a file to cut text into a small wood project with a cnc machine. The only examples and instructions I can find are either incomplete or for the prior version of the program.

Thank you for the guides. I'm getting further but got this error when following along in the second part:

I tried again and got a strange looking path:

I cannot get the edit sketch dimensions to work as in the video either. Trying again... When I go on and Extrude and set -2 to cut and click OK the text disappears.

I got it to create a file with a path but when processed and opened in Candle grbl the tool path does not appear the same.

If you watch videos that are no more than 6 months old it will help.

The toolpath and what is showing in candle look the same to me.

I am attaching my file in case you can help. I copied it to the sd card but it doesn't print/cut. I tried one of the demo files and it ran.

You need to select the edge of the bit inside of the a also make sure the red arrows are on the same side as the pick you change them by clicking on them.

Thank you for your reply. I tried redoing the 'a' and post processing but I get the same result. The screen on the controller displays 31.93% printed and .11% next to the pc icon and just hangs there.

Have a look at this I show picking what has been missed plus post-processing the model with the post you should be useing

Thank you so much for your help. I was able to make it print. I still need to tweak it a little but it worked. I will continue going through the lessons that you sent me as well.
