2D Pocketing

In this example I have a shallow pocket in round stock that has a bored hole removing material from the center of the pocket. I have roughed the pocket with 2D adaptive (please advise on how to make this more efficient since the path does not seem to regard the hole in the center). I then try and use 2D contour to finish the edges and bottom of the pocket and I cannot seem to get the path to clear the entire bottom face and the outside walls (only the outside walls and adjacent pocket face). The smaller cylindrical holes that partially break thru the ID feature are to be produced later in the machine sequence.

Any thoughts are appreciated

Hi @flatout3d

First, adaptive may not be the best choice here as the pocket is very shallow, but I was able to change the 2d contour you were using to do what you asked. In the passes tab, I activated multiple finish passes and changed the items in red boxes in the image. I was unsure of your material so do adjust the step-over, feed, and speeds for your set-up.
