2D Contour ramp

Hello,

I'm trying to program a 2D contour with a ramp for a hole,  It currently only allows me to step down. I do not see any way to adjust or switch out of stepping down.  How am I able to set configurations for the ramp? Is the availability to do so in the full program? I am currently using a trial, learning how the software works and would like to try post processing onto a Tormach 1100 that reads Fanuc.  Currently I am using Mastercam, and I am familiar with SolidWorks.  But Fusion 360 looks to be a promising replacement CAD/CAM software.

Thank you,

Steven Kalinowski

The trial is the same as the full version. Have you tried the Bore option if you're machining a round hole. It will be easer to help if you can share your model so someone can see exactly what you have. Export your model as an f3d file and attach please.

The Ramp settings are on the Linking tab (last one):

The bore feature worked, thank you.  I noticed on the final cut it is cutting the full depth of .5", but I have not noticed any controls to tell it to cut to a specified depth.  I would prefer the item to not drop out of the stock, but instead cut to .495", where would I have the ability to control that?

How do you pull up the linking tab?

It's in the screenshot I embedded in my previous post. The linking tab is the last one of five in your toolpath settings window.

Try clicking along the tabs on the dialog for Height, Linking etc.

I understand that from your embedded image.  The problem I'm facing is that I am unable to pull up the toolpath settings window.  I can pull up the window for selecting a tool and the library for editing said tool, once I select and ok everything it goes back to rendering.

I guess the problem I'm having now is that the dialogue box is no where to be found, same goes for the toolpath settings window.  After I select the tool and close out it goes back to the design without any of the windows that are being mentioned.  Even when I right click on the tree for the command or for the tool I don't see any options to open the windows to give further instruction to the process.

Someone else had this issue recently. Try un-maximizing the Fusion 360 window without the toolpath dialogue open, move the window into the middle of your display and then open it, as I believe the dialogue window has a tendency to move itself away from/off the main window on occasion.

No luck with that...Would it be worth uninstalling and reinstalling the program?

Try Ctrl+Alt+R to reset the layout.

One question, how have you setup the op to start with? When you select for example Contour from the toolbar at the top of the screen do you see the dialog?

At first when I would select contour from the top menu, I could only select the components I wanted to cut, then open the tree to see the cutting tool entered prior in the Library.  But Ctrl+Alt+R worked.  Now when I select contour the task menu opens up and is working correctly.

Thank you for the help!
