Box Generator (tabbed or finger etc)

Box Generator (tabbed or finger etc)

Similar to the tool for making holes and thread a utility for doing boxes would be great

where you can input ID and OD Dimensions

thickness of material

type of joint i.e flat, finger, tabs and the properties of these points

manufacturing method - so say if laser you could input kerf or CNC offset so that the fit "tightness" of joints could be specified

This can be done on various websites an example is http://www.makercase.com/

I feel this should be native to fusion and would love it if you could do this

Linking this to a nested dxf export would be the cream 🙂

yep nicebox360 is tool that does some of what I am looking for but not all and not easily, I have found it at times gets caught in a loop and being resource hungry

there are other tools and some people have resorted to templates

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/any-tips-on-making-box-finger-joint/td-p/6...

I feel this should be native to fusion and would love it if autodesk could add it in in the similar way that the threads and holes tool were enhanced / matured in the fusion 360 product

Fusion 360 is used a lot in the maker community for laser cutting and 3 D printing

For laser cutting a box is often one of the building blocks of a product being able to do that well and easily will reach a large user base - who may or may not reach out to this area (ideas  station - "power user" part of your communication platform)

The other thing that would complete the experience for makers that use laser cutter would be nesting and file export i.e dxf variants and svg files etc - but that is in various shapes and forms requested elsewhere on ideas  station

This is what I would like it to produce.
