Weldments / Frame Generator

Weldments / Frame Generator

putting this on top of the list. this is a very much needed feature that fusion 360 is missing. if you are using fusion360 for fabrication then you need this. Dimensional profiles that extrude to a 3D sketch paths. then have the ability to create cut list from the model. and then have the ability to liner nest for for material takeoff.

I am likely going to bite the bullet and move to solidworks for this very reason.  I love fusion but the lack of this functionality is killing me.

i hear you! i started with SolidWorks 10+ years ago. the cost of solidworks is what is keeping me with fusion360. it makes to much sense to add this feature to fusion360. i hope it's at least on the rodamap.

I saw a post from the admins that was in around 2016 at some point where
they said it was years out. Unfortunately for me its just too indispensable
a feature for me to go without for much longer.

I really need the Weldment feature similar to Solidworks.

  • Fusion 360 is said to be the tool for the ENTIRE design process... we have the machinist, mechanical engineer, industrial designer, collaborators, an even electrical engineers.... but where are the welders? The two tools welders use most- frame generator/ weldments- and tab and slot design... these two tools are priceless to quick and easy design for welded components, the fusion 360 team needs to make integrating welders into the “full design team” THE top priority, right now they are forgotten, but I personally know so many weld shops that try to switch to fusion but can’t due to lack of weldment / frame design... fusion blows the run of the mill, grandfather cad programs out of the water in almost every way, but where welders are concerned.... you guys aren’t even in the competition
