Visibility of dimension changes in Drawing

Visibility of dimension changes in Drawing

Please , please, please create a way to easily identify dimensions that have changed when you update a drawing. Sometimes the part driving the drawing has many changes made to an already complicated part. When the drawing is updated, nothing currently tells you what has changed and only items that have become dissociated get flagged.

In a complex drawing there may be move than 100 dimensions and many may have changed.

Firstly how do you see what has changed is an issue, secondly how to you communicate this change to your fabricator in a revised drawing is also an issue. (if only revision clouds were available to highlight changed dimensions.)

Many thanks for the already great work fusion 360 team!

Keep it up.

How about changing the color or font type  of dimensions modified?  That might work. I like your idea.

Color only, that is how Catia functions. You then need to re associate the dimensions to the geometry, but at least you know what changed and can place a revision mark next to the dimension that changed.

Well @Anonymous  that’s the other part of the issue. There are no revision symbols or clouds available even once you do know what has changed...

Are you serious????   ECO's , Bulletins , and addend'ems are the real part of the daily Engineering World. Not sure this platform will work for me. Starting to appear as High End SketchUp, and a buffet of 40 other products AutoDesk has all mashed into a Sub $500.00 product. Come on guys. I really love this software but please have a punchlist for CRITICAL features an Engineer / Designer needs. Proper Engineering Drawings are C-R-I-T-I-C-A-L.

Call if need be.

May be requesting a Refund.....  I can't test for all of this assumed functionality on a trial license.  OMG

Just verified.... you can do Geometric Tolerancing , and can't place a revision symbol? Woaaaa.

I'll try to hang in there AutoDesk..... Coders should put in some overtime.... ASAP

Hi All,

We are beginning to work on how the first wave of release and revision management support in Drawings will function and feel like, so I wanted to follow up on this thread with the good news! If you would like to see more details, and be a part of providing early feedback, please see this post on the Feedback Hub.

Best,

Timera
