Use stock from previous operation in new setup

 In CAM, I should have the option of using the remaining stock from the previous operation as I create subsequent operations. This way I define the stock on my first operation, and I can see the real progression of my part as I create all my setups.

I have had issue with the mesh not being a smooth line. And when converted the parts edges has become a bunch of triangles and didn't work well.

This should be an easy transition. Doing a work around solution is not the correct way it should be done. I would do it but again had issue with the mesh not working well.

I also had a problem using this method to "use stock from a previous
operation in new setup." I performed the simulation, right clicked to
select "Stock" Save Stock. However I get a failed to save stock message
window and cannot save the stock. Just doing a little research I also
noticed that I cannot load stock either.

Is this an install problem or am I missing something?

I think saving the stock from a previous operation is an OK work around for some situations but the biggest issue I see is you are no longer parametric - your machining a disconnected copy of your model - if you make a change in your model you have to save new stock from each operation.

The save as stl then convert never works for anything of normal complexity. I have had a zero percent success rate with this method on real parts.

Any updates on this from Autodesk engineers, this has been in the queue too long.  There have been many less important items addressed.

Please revisit a fix for this issue.

Couldn't believe this didn't exist in Fusion. Still trying to figure out this workflow, as the "rest machining from file" functionality appears broken (meaning I cannot select a file at all from this field), inserting a mesh into the current design always results in the mesh being 10x oversized (still can't figure out why the eight different  1-10 person dev teams for all of the 3d printing slicers I use can figure this out but Fusion's team can't), and "stock from previous operation" doesn't work between setups.

I am surprised it is so complicated. I will have to weigh the time of drawing partially machined parts against the added machining time of cutting air.

It would be great to be able to take a first op from a top side and retain the remaining stock when I flip the part to do the WCS and remaining features on the backside

Please add this functionality for HSM.  I work within assemblies for collision detection with all my fixtures and the .STL trick does not work within assemblies (I can get it to work within parts only).

This is extremely frustrating and I'm considering going back to Sprutcam.

Do these requests get looked at? This is important coming from Mastercam and Worknc this is crucial to work on multiple setups.
