Premise:
Fusion 360 is growing, is in full development and updates are being issued often.
Issue:
Projects can't be opened on machines with even "slightly outdated" versions of fusion, which makes the entire "cloud based" feature a big pain in the arse and useless feature.
Why fusion might not be up to date on all machines? you may ask... On my personal computer is always up to date, but on my University's machines they are not. Updates are being pushed periodically, when the IT staff decides (stubborn folks).
For example, at the momen when I was writing this message, fusion version at my university was still 2.0.5119... can't open any of my projects.
Suggestion:
As long as the update does not address aspects or features that would cause incompatibility, please allow a file to be opened in an older version of Fusion 360. I am sure that most of this small updates are merely fixing bugs and not really changing so much in the way models are being handled, so there is no reason for this blanket-rule.
I am aware this might be a bit of more effort from development side, as it is easier to make one rule that fits all, but that is not the best option many times.
And, of course, when the changes in fusion are of such nature that newly created files would have features "unknown" to older versions, then it is understandable to have a protection in place.
So, please help us here... I am not the only one in this situation.
