Uninstall Fusion should remove EVERYTHING

Uninstall Fusion should remove EVERYTHING

The current July update busted Fusion with a host of bugs.

So I tried to uninstall and freshly re-install it

To my surprise all settings and plug-ins were still present after a new install.

Gents - when I want to uninstall make an uninstaller that removes EVERYTHING!

This is a really old complaint and should not be that rocket science 😉

And on a Mac / in macOS, it should just be a self-contained bundle that goes in /Applications and removing that should remove everything even without having to run an uninstaller

@roambotics_scott Must be to difficult to understand ...

@roambotics_scott fully agree. Thats one of the beauties of macOS.

@cekuhnen @TrippyLighting I definitely get that it's hard since they're doing a universal app, but if you visit someone whose custom is to take off their shoes in the house, it's rude not to

Exactly! And if you don't want to take the shoes of, at least mop the floors before you leave 😉

Wish there was a mechanism to «like» a comment when you have nothing else to add 🙂

We are working on this now and will be rolling it out in phases. The uninstaller only removes whatever it installs. Any other data you add will not be removed due to the nature of uninstallers in general. We are working on script that you can run after your uninstall so you can remove whatever is left, without needing to go manually deleting them. Our next step after this is to integrate the script with the uninstaller so you can choose to keep or discard all other locally stored Fusion data right within the uninstaller.

Glad to hear that, Keqing !

One thing that would be great while you're doing that is to follow Apple's standards for installing / uninstalling applications (drag-n-drop to /Applications ; simply delete to remove everything)

@roambotics_scott that's on our list of projects to do as well. We are prioritizing clean uninstall over where it gets installed at this time. There are some challenges with that since it limits us from pushing continuous updates out. We're investigating solutions and looking into how we can do this better.

Sounds good @keqingsong glad to hear you're thinking about / working on it and thanks for the heads up
