Trim surface should also work like split body

Trim surface should also work like split body

It would be nice if I could just trim a body with a surface without having to explode the body so I can do a patch on patch trim task!

Hi @cekuhnen

What is the desired result?  You can currently split the body with a surface.  You can trim the surface with the body.

What am I missing?  Do you want to punch a hole through the surface with the cylinder?

Split body splits a solid into two new solids.

I would have to delete one side

then unstitch the solid

delete then internal trimmed end cap

Stitch stuff back together ...

so it would be nice if the Trim command could just do that at once trim the other area of the solid away and provide an open surface

compare the timeline
