Toolbar Freedom

Toolbar Freedom

My suggestion or idea isn't anything radical, but I believe it is a much needed feature. Essentially what I'm proposing is a completely customizable tool menu. For instance currently we have (under the model environment): sketch, create, modify, assemble, construct, inspect, etc. Each of these sections have relevant functions within their sub-menus. However I find that I only use a couple of sub-menus only and the rest is wasted real estate. In particular I never find myself using the add-ins or the make menus. Nor do I use "insert" often (I use it, but not daily).

It would be great if I could organize my tool menu and cater it to my specific workflow (hell maybe we could even have pre-set modes that display a section of tools you most commonly use for a specific job, similar to how you choose the model or patch environment). Additionally some sort of option where I could have icons only, or downsize the icons would be HUUUUGE as well.

I have a Photoshop background and find that having a bunch of small tool icons on the left or up top is very nice because it keeps the work space nice and clean without clutter. I'm curious to hear if anyone else might find this advantageous, given my Photoshop experience I have no problem designing a mock up to contribute to the community as a means of showing the concept.

Thanks!
