It would be really helpful to be able to select a tool change position for the table in the post editor drop down menu instead of going though and editing code manually.
I just want to move the table to the x axis to the max position and y minimum position. In a Haas generic with an umbrella changer this give clearance for larger work pieces and longer tools. Same thing can be done on the A axis position
@dtoniob There are two solutions for you regarding a safe tool change position:
Call your HFO and ask them about setting the automatic tool change position on the control. This is BY FAR THE SAFEST WAY to set the tool change position for a Haas, as this will force the position every time a tool change is called in the program, and more importantly, when you manually perform a tool change (like if you command T1 then ATC FWD in MDI mode).
Have a post processor modified for you to move to a machine position on a tool change. The post will automatically create G53 positioning moves before the M6 command so that your machine moves to a safe position. I DO NOT recommend this solution because if you manually command a tool change during setup, the machine does not automatically move to the safe position.
