Thin wall Extrude.

Thin wall Extrude.

I'd like to see a feature like web but without the need to extrude to a body. Just draw a single line shape and extrude with options for thickening, one side, two side or symmetrical.

Here's the feature in Geomagic.

Thanks Mark

Just a Note. Should be an option for Sweep, Loft and Revolve. You can do something similar using the patch workspace and thicken but it doesn't work well with T and Y joints.

I think it would be nice if you could extrude a non-closed profile.  basically,   sketching a line or series of connected lines, but not closing the ends together.   When you select the extrude body option, and select an open profile, I would like to see an additional menu item that would add thickness in either direction, or centered on the line.  Then this thickness could be extruded using the standard settings.

I use this in SWx all the time for thin profiles  it saves a lot of time just having to sketch the surface I want and be able to extrude and thicken it all in one operation.

Right now in Fusion I have to extrude a surface and then thickent it.  Its not a huge deal, but it would eliminate a step and a feature tree item if it were combined.

Have you tried the patch workspace I think both of you requests are there already. Below extruded open curve made into a surface.

Here's a screencast I did for someone else, you might want to skip the first minute.

Sorry think I misunderstood the first read of your request. I see now you want the extrude and thicken in one command.

I wish for this nearly every time I'm in Fusion.  Great enhancement not only for extrude but revolve as well.

This seems like its solved with the sheet metal options that were just released

+1 On this one. Thin features are a huge time saver in SW. Odd this only has 7 votes, is there a similar request posted elsewhere?

@Anonymous No The sheetmetal can't do this at all.

Here's a screencast I made to demonstrate a couple of bugs in Web. The actual extrusion is a good example of what this request is about though.
