The ability to remove default tool libraries

The ability to remove default tool libraries

Hi all

Why is there no way to disable or delete the 2 default tool libraries 'sample' and 'Vendor'?

This really cutter up everything, even more so because they expand and show themselves EVERY time you open up the 'tool bibrary manager' or if you want to select tools, it shows a lot of tools I don't want to see as a professional.

might seem as a small thing, but for CAM professionals, a good, easy and healthy tool library is the backbone of good machining

Please make it possible to delete theese, or at least give us the ability to turn them off, in the new 'getting started' window or something

As of now I do this below, if anyone also is getting crazy about this! (please use on your own risk)

(Every time Fusion360 updates I need to manually delete the 'default tool libraries' again)

I do it his way: (windows)

1 open fusion 360
2 enter cam mode
3 click library
4 click on import tool library
- it should open widon with a path, copy this path...
- something like: C:\Users\niels\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\ba667101c1a70012b1b1945b1cf731f7c125c095
5 open a windows browser
6 go to the copied path
7 search for *.json*
8 select a tool from one of the libraries you want to delete, eg: ''Tormach - 15L Slant-PRO - Starter''
9 right click and select open file placement
10 go up some steps until you can see the 'library' folder
- should look like this: C:\Users\niels\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\ba667101c1a70012b1b1945b1cf731f7c125c095\Applications\CAM360\Data\Libraries
11 delete the 'vendor' and 'samples folder'

Anywyas thanks for a great program otherwise!!

Have you tried unselecting the libraries you don't want in the tool library. From manage open the tool library clear the check mark next to the libraries you don't want

Then when selecting from an op only the selected libraries are available.

Or is just having them in the library manager, top image what you find irritating?

Hi Mark

Thanks for the reply!

Well first of all I don't understand why we can't be able to 'disable/delete them' just like with the 'sample project' just to make it as the user wants it...

I must admit, I just deleted the libraries prior to this, so I cannot test the 'method' you describe, but thought i allready tried that... but now i'm not sure anymore... (it works with my current libraries though) but think something made them reappear or something since 'the above method' wasn't enough...

Anywyas, I will try it out after next update... but still think it should be possible for the user to remove everything that clutter...
