I think its time to implement text along an arc. I've searched and this has been an issue for over 2 years. Come on Fusion team, how hard is it really to make text along an arc. Create text select a radius or circle or arc for it to follow, give a spacing option between the letters than BAM! done.
Pretty sad that MasterCam from the 90's can do this but Fusion cant..
Thanks for bringing this up. Right now the team that is working on sketch is prioritizing a couple of things:
Performance and bug fixing. Sketch behavior was getting wonky so we couldn't move forward on new for Fusion features until we got that sorted. I'm glad to say that it has improved significantly over the last 3-4 months. But this is an evergreen project, work neither starts or stops on this.
3D sketch. We will soon release 3D sketch functionality. While you can move sketch objects in 3D space today, the experience doesn't aid in the creation of a 3D line very well. I'm very happy with what the team has done here and it will speed the time to complete models, and significantly reduce the number of features and sketches to complete models. Much more to come soon on this.
We are then going to move onto improvements to Text, including text on an arc. We have several requests around text in sketching and this will be a project that gets the attention it has deserved.
I agree with you that none of this work is hard, nor do we have to re-think the problem and solution. For every feature we choose to work on, dozens more are behind it in the cue. So while this news might be good news for many (this request is one of the most voted for features), it's likely disappointing to those waiting on helix, or equation curves, or direct parameter naming.
Please keep the feedback coming. It has a significant influence on prioritization.
I completely understand that there are many items to be addressed. However this would be a great addition after 2 years in the waiting. Many real world parts & manufactures are required to scribe info either on a cylinder or radius on the face of a part. I really would rather not rely on a outside program to import the text to accomplish this...
