I work with wooden parts so many of my components have the same section but different lengths and different end conditions.
I would envision this function as follows:
Pick a component that has all the common characteristics to be the base component.
Pick into creating a Tabular Drawing.
Specify the number of parts and the number of variables.
The base component shows up in the first line with its part number in the first column. Each of the variable fields would have letters above them.
Go through the base component and dimension. Whenever a dimension is to be a variable, select the variable field letter and the cell is populated with the model dimension value.
For each variation of end condition, a letter option is selected. This would then allow the operator to include a detail view on the sheet.
The table then could be exported into a comma delimited file.
