surface extension direction

It would be nice to be able to choose a direction when you are extending a surface, natural extention is not always the way that the surface is needed.

There is a choice for tangent and perpendicular? Can you add the other choices you would like? Or, are you referring to a trim like behavior?

I guess I would be refering to a trim behavior. if it have a triangle surface taht i cut the tip off of one side and try to extend it the result is a rectangle extention rather than compleating the triangle.
