Despite the lack of custom form tools or thread mills, thread milling in fusion is super easy and runs great so far. However, it would be nice if the modeling and CAM side supported NPT pipe threads and STI (standard threaded insert) threads as both of these are extremely common in some manufacturing areas. Similarly, a set of STI taps in the included tools would be great. I tried searching to see if anyone had asked for STI threads but only saw the NPT ones.
Definitely need, at least in lathe, the ability to cut external pipe threads. Pipe threads are the type of thing that is a bear to do on a manual lathe, but are bread and butter on a CNC lathe
This is mostly a modeling problem, because the thread operation in CAM can already cut tapered threads when the selection is a tapered face, even with a straight thread mill (though adding a taper angle to the tool definition is being considered for simulation purposes).
STI threads are straight threads, to as long as the hole is modeled correctly these will also be cut correctly.
