Subscription Services - Fusion360 Competition

Subscription Services - Fusion360 Competition

Buy a month at a time of Mold Flow , Ansys  and other high end Autodesk software solutions.  "Here is where the competition is going."

Simscale is a Eurpean "cloud based analisys" solution.  Here is where you can purchase 170 Euro block of time for a month of their high end simulation package.  These guys includes 3000 core hours of computing time. https://simscale.com/pricing/  Using Simscale, you must upload your mesh CAD file, then switch to their portal to begin setting up experiments.  Worked great along with excellent support.

If the Fusion360 team solution was to remote  in using an HTML GUI page like Simscale thru the Fusion portal, that could be a greaty start.  Looks like the kernel is open source. https://simscale.com/attributions/  At the end of the day, we need access to more Autodesk products thru the Fusion portal. More pay as you go will bring the masses to Fusion.  When we show mold makers and engineers where we are going with Fusion, they all ask...."hey doesn't Autodesk own Delcam and Ansys?"  Then they respond with, I would pay a monthly service to get access to Moldflow and a number of other tool sets. We just can not afford to pay for it and maintain the license.

Get rid of licenses that can get pirated.  If everything becomes ala-carte' CAD, then cash flows into Autodesk, rather than having pirates copy, and sell your tools on the back streets of Shenzhen China for $5,00.  Have see almost all your solftware tools for $5.00 or less over the years when in Asia. Makes more sense to bring it out thru the Fusion portal.  Sell core computing hours along with modules.

Here is a project we did earlier this year using the Simscale solution.  Paid $1,800 Euros to Simscale to get the project done. They provided a day of training and project setups.   https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/cloud-based-wind-power-simulations-pat-conarro?trk=mp-reader-card

@anewenergy,

Thank you for your idea, this is getting archived due to lack of votes.  I would also like to let you know that we have a similar plan with Fusion 360 and Fusion 360 Ultimate.  Ultimate will give you the ability to use the could for SIM, CAM and a number of other planned functions.  With Fusion 360 already a subscription based tool you can buy more seats when you need them.  Along with seats you will be able to purchase additional cloud credits to run simulations, renderings and much more.

Cheers,

Mike Prom
