STL to STEP Files
Hello All,
I am trying to convert an STL file to a STEP file, does Autodesk offer a solution for this?
I was using 123Design, but this has since been discontinued. I have looked in to Fusion 360 and Tinkercad, but they do not upload STl, or they do not export to STEP or another file type. I am so disappointed 123Design is no longer available for Premium. In order to export to STEP, you have to have the Premium account. It's too bad they have done away with this software.
There are a number of tools available that can do this... FreeCAD is one, InStep another. Autodesk may have something that I am not aware of as part of their free tools... Google is your friend here.
Fusion can import meshes, convert to a Brep then export as stp but it's not recommended for large meshes. If all you want to do is work with meshes use a different program.
