Spiral or adaptive facing strategy

Spiral or adaptive facing strategy

I would like to have a spiral or adaptive facing strategy.  The linear facing pattern will leave overhanging material free to break loose and chip or break an endmill while machining the carrier material off of a flipped part.

When I have these types of parts, I will create extra sketches and or geometry to force the adaptive clearing strategy to do what I want.  It would be better if I could just pick the strategy from the facing operation.

Esprit CAM has a toolpath like this. A facing operation that climb mills without retract would save time, tools etc. Rolling into the cut is hugely important. I use the chip thinning option in Fusion 360 but when I choose climb milling I can't get the tool to stay down. It always retracts, no matter what other parameters I set to keep the tool down. Using an adaptive tool path with a face mill is my work around for now.

Have you tried using the 2d adaptive pocket?
