software upgrades

First I would like the  thank the development team for the quick upgrade giving us the  new features. However as I am in an education institute  where installing of software is done only by authorise personal. These constant upgrade is a nightmare as each upgrade required my tech assistant to reinstall the software else it will not work for all user. He try upgrade the software but it only works for him.

Is there a solution to this?

Is it possible to allow older version to work without the upgrade?

 

Please advise.
