i hope that one day we will have a proper curve editing environment but in the meantime it would be great to be able to organize elements within sketches. when you have a complex sketch it is really difficult to keep track of different parts of a sketch because everything has the same colors and styling. But even for simpler elements it would be great if i could organize elements within a sketch in layers, group elements together and most of all assign different colors to distinguish curve elements.
Take this example: i'm currently working on a new electric guitar build, i was previously using Rhino and Rhinocam but really like Fusion, especially the CAM part. So for this new guitar project i'm trying to do it all in Fusion. Starting of with the fretboard i'm already sorely missing some organization tools for sketches.
This is how it is now in Fusion:
Wouldn't this be so much better ? :
What would be even better then is to be able to assign properties linetypes:
and of course group together items and assign properties to groups. and it needs to be available WITHIN a single sketch. having properties for color and line types on sketches or selection sets would be cool but tedious and unneccessary, it need to be at the object/curve level.
This would already make sketching in Fusion much easier, but of course on top of that what we really need is proper curve editing, being able to edit the curves building blocks (vertices, control points, curve degrees), being able to rebuild or fit curves, join and split curves ![]()
PS: text parameters and styles for dimensions would be really usefull as well, in complex sketches with many dimensions and constraints it's very hard to do anything because of the constant snapping and highlighting of hover objects.
