sharp 60 degree thread option

sharp 60 degree thread option

The threading function in Fusion 360 is lacking two very basic and useful features. (or I’m just looking in the wrong place.)

  • The simple 60 degree “sharp” threads using the formula .866/TPI (.866 is the COS of 30 degrees) to calculate the full depth of the thread from whatever diameter is defined in the model.
  • The ability to use “non-standard” diameters (O.D. or I.D.) for custom threaded mating parts.

Many hobby projects use non-standard thread sizes and hand ground HHS tool bits.

I am in the same situation finding a need for tapered and extra fine non standard threads/finer pitches ETC. I would be willing to scan and send any relevant pages of the machinery handbook for explanation of the relevant threading to be possible in F360.
