Select entire top edge of a body with a double click

I would like to select the entire top edge of a body with a double click or perhaps holding down cntrl and double-clicking.

I design cookie cutters. I design them in large batches so it would save a lot of time if I could do this..

I always chamfer the top outer edge of the cookie cutters.

I start with selecting one line segment and then have to select multiple line segments:
