Scale Factor Add dimension option

Scale Factor Add dimension option

Please add a dimension option already... its such a pain in the ass pulling out the calculator everytime I need to determine scale factor when I scale something... its slowing me down... such a simple feature you can add. Maybe its on the roadmap I don't know... All I know... add it now please. This is probably the most annoying thing but other than that I love fusion.

Thanks,

Jeff

No need for a calculator, just type it into the scale dialog. If the part mesures 75mm and you want 90mm just type 90/70 as the scale factor.

I agree. I actually added a parameter (Change Parameters) for the scale factor on a model. I set the SF for say .5 and every dimensions was SF * .5. It didn't quite work out. when I change the SF the model blows up. It might work for simpler models but for more complex models it fails.

What I find might work better is making a parameter for SF and scaling at the end. The issue with that is that, for me, I am taking something from the real world and making it small. So I need to model say a toaster to scale, then scale it down, then add a keychain loop. You can't add the keychain loop during the modeling process because you have no idea how big it will be. Then if you realize the scale on the toaster should have been .656 the keychain loop will break...

There are workarounds but they're not ideal. On a very complex model it can be frustrating.
