Save drawing as a DXF file
Would it be possible to save a drawing as a DXF file not just PDF /DWG as sometimes we have to sub contract work to other company`s and they have to redraw up our design as they are using 2D files and it cost us more for the time for them to redraw up ,It would be great if this can be added to an update soon
If you are trying to send a DXF file to a supplier or vendor, you can save sketches as DXF. Just right click on the sketch in the sketch folder, save as DXF. I use this when sending profiles to laser or waterjet companies.
I know that can be done but if i need to put tolerance and notes or sections of the drawing it cant be done only a drawing file can can be use ,Why send the model in DXF and then a drawing in PDF ,Autodesk Inventor allows you to pick what format you want to save why can`t another Autodesk product do the same ,They try and make out Fusion is a all singing and dancing product but but it has limits on a simple save drawing files not all company`s have new up to date CAD packages so it will help out those who cant afford to update at present
This is a stupid work around, but zamzar.com. I output the pdf in fusion, then upload it there, then it emails me a dxf. Don't know how secure it is for proprietary information, and I probably wouldn't use it for anything ITAR, but it works for the basics.
Hey fusion guys, why don't you guys just team up with an existing platform such as theirs?
Agree, i am facing same problem, it will be real time saving, and also it would also be possible to save folded and unfolded view in same sheet as DXF.
