Save as and replace for all Components

The save as and replace feature is great when you have a component created externally and inserted. Simply allowing a new copy of the component and then editing as required.

What I don't understand is why this behaviour isn't allowed for components which have been created INTERNALLY to a fusion file(Ie: create>new component). We still have the save as functionality, but to convert to a referenced component we must save as, delete and then reimport. It would be a much cleaner workflow if we could save as & replace these internal components as we do referenced components

I agree. It's for components created in the design the function would really be useful. Please implement this.

I’m moving from another CAD program and it was a surprise to me that there was no function to "Save Linked copy as".

It breaks Top-Down work. I don’t understand why such an important function has not yet been added.
