Roll Around Corners

Roll Around Corners

In the CAM 2D contouring operation it would be nice to add a feature for the roll around corner option to have a parameter for a radius value. I have typically used this feature with a small value like 0.005 in other CAM software, this helps eliminate deburring and smooth corners nicely.

This feature would be a nice addition to the 2D Contour operation.

Currently when I am milling around corners with Roll Around Corner turned on I notice burrs rolled over even on light finishing passes with end mills. These burrs occur on all acute angles and even slightly obtuse angles.

My work around for this is to modify a customers model with tiny 0.005" fillets on any corners. This method works fine but I would rather leave the model alone and just have an adjustable parameter available in CAM inside 2D Contour.

I used this feature inside GibbsCAM and for 20+yrs I never turned it off nor had a customer complain about having that tiny fillet on a corner.

I too miss this feature from GibbsCAM.  I have been manually adding a small radius (also .005") to all of my parts, but parts for others I'd rather leave alone.

Break corners would be a great addition to Fusion's CAM.

Here is an example of a competitors software.

For some reason, I seem to recall it being a feature at one point. I remember this because it was only an option when using Wear or Computer Comp. I asked about it and there were no plans to make it available to Control comp. Again, this was a couple years ago when it was there.
