Robot Online + Offline programming

The Idea is based on a real case, it will be great if in Fusion, a Robot programming module can be made, the robot, the machines like cnc, injection press, everything can be made in 3D or better downloaded from the supplier web site in step 3D, than we can make the joints per example on a 6 axis robot arm, with the limitations of travel and the resolution per axis. From there the virtual robot can be moved and a program can be made in Python or in live directly to the robot controller.

 

All the digital servo motors drives are now Ethercat, thios allow the many drives (and servos) to be connected together to work in an assembly with a synchronise clock, it's really simple (Ethercat daisy chain).

The 3D distance and limits made into Fusion can allow to control the robot really precisely, and in a futur step, all the workshop can be made in 3D, with all the machines and robots, to have a live view of the production offline or in real time (online).

I forgot to say...

 

I am using Mach4 (Mach3 in the past) for making cnc controller, the Ethercat is making it much more simple, because it link all the daisy chained drives to work together and the only missing piece of the puzzle is the controller + motion interface. Because the CAD and joints is allready inside of Fusion360, it become really easy just by adding few parameters to become capable of driving the Robot or CNC directly from Fusion. It need to define the differents joints + limits per axis, can be linear or rotary joints, the final resolution (ex. pulses per mm for linear, or pulse per revolution for rotary), the acceleration/deceleration of each axis.

 

The 3D assembly and joints definition made in Fusion will make the beast to get alive, the 1st time you have a CNC moving following your G-code is really a nice feeling, imagine you can make Robots, CNC, automation station the same way just by making the 3D before and configuration the joints between each axis.

 

Actually I need to restart from the 3D step and redesign it in software as RobotDK or fighting to learn a pendant that use different interface on each robots or machine. I suggest a Ipad or micro PC can be installed on each Robot to give acces to have a user interface directly on the robot or CNC, and the Fusion 360 can be use online directly, or a programm can be made offline, and shared by the cloud to the robot controller.

 

A Virtual shop can be made all integrated.
