There are other proposals (like this one) for an option to download all materials - which would certainly be convenient, and you really should go vote for it right now - but I'd be satisfied with something a little more modest.
Right now I frequently find that after an update I have to go back and re-download all the downloadable materials the the appearance library - both stock and custom - that I might want to use. What's more, when a new update is pushed out I'm told that I can't even re-download them until quitting and restarting with the new version. While it's hardly a showstopper, it's a frustrating interruption that inevitably causes me to spend the rest of the afternoon browsing the idea station in search of similarly discontented souls instead of actually getting back to work on whatever was interrupted.
Since asking Autodesk to upgrade my attention span and/or tolerance for interruption is probably unrealistic, is there any reason the client couldn't be made to remember what's been downloaded in the past and automagically grab new copies of any that've been changed, instead of nuking the entire local library and leaving it to the user to get things back in order?
