Referenced by WHAT other features?

Referenced by WHAT other features?

I go to delete some component that I'm absolutely certain (well, pretty certain) that I don't need any more, but a warning message pops up informing me that there are other features that reference this component.

Well, that certainly puts me ill at ease. I guess I'm not so sure anymore about deleting it. But I also don't have any clue what "other features" might be referencing this. so how do I decide, Delete or Cancel.

Please, please, add some functionality, perhaps an option right on that dialog, that will tell me, somehow, what those other features are that reference the thing I want to delete, maybe a list that pops up and clicking on items in the list highlight those features in the timeline, in the browser,  and in the design itself. Otherwise, I may well have no clue and no way of finding out what the references are.

Daniel,

That shows a list of the the other  Designs in which that selected Design is used in. That kind of "Used In" is related to the use of the Insert/Derive operation that let's you insert existing Designs into your current Design.

That is NOT what I was asking about. I was talking about COMPONENTS within a Design. You have a Design open and there's some Component that you decide you no longer need or want in the Design. You select it and hit the delete key, or you right-click on the Component and select Delete. Sometimes when you do that you get the warning dialog that I showed above. That Warning indicates to you that there are OTHER Features in the timeline that reference the Component that you want to delete, warning you that if you do indeed perform the deletion it will result in new Warnings and/or Errors in the timeline.

My request is that there be some way of getting a LIST of those other components or timeline Features that reference the Component that you're trying to delete, maybe having the affected Components and/or Features highlighted so you can take a look and decide whether you really want to proceed with the delete.  Maybe let you somehow DEAL with those to-be-affected components before you actually perform the delete.

Isn't that precisely what I just did? Clarify what I meant?

And doesn't my original post pretty clearly reference Components and the dialog that I showed reference the Timeline? It's a dialog you get when deleting a Component within a design.  Doesn't that make it pretty clear, without further clarification, that I was talking about deleting components WITHIN a design and not at all referencing a Design that might have been Insert-Derived into some other design?
