Real-time CAM in CAD mode: Tighter CAD-CAM Integration with CAM-centric CAD

Real-time CAM in CAD mode: Tighter CAD-CAM Integration with CAM-centric CAD

It'll be cool for FUSION to provide users with the option to operate in a tighter CAD-CAM environment where tool choice, machine-optimum fillets, chamfers and tool path strategies can be suggested in real-time during the CAD modelling phase. For eg. if a pocket in modelled in CAD mode, Fusion could detect this feature and suggest adaptive clearing as the machining strategy for the modelled geometry and even suggest the generic tool head to use based on dimensions modelled. As the CAD modelling progresses, Fusion could recalculate the strategies to facilitate optimum machining as new geometries are added.

This could also serve as a means to learn about workable CAM-simulations and its limitations simulateneously during the modelling phase. If machine-unfriendly geometries are modelled, Fusion could suggest to the modelle to adopt  an alternative modelling that works better with machining.

I've wanted this for awhile, but I'd really love something where you're simultaneously designing parts and tools / paths for manufacturing.

I'm constantly finding myself doing that in my head anyway - figuring out how much draft I need to make a molded part and making sure I don't have any overhangs or thinking about how something would be machined when I'm designing it; why not couple the two tightly and make it adaptive so things can be tweaked for different processes ?

Not quite on the CAM side but the thing that sucks a ton of time for me is that I'll need 5º draft angle for one thing but if I polish the mold I can take it down to as low as ~0.5º (or someplace in between) and I end up having to restart the design from scratch because I can't do it parametrically (though fixing that part would also be nice)

Thank You for supporting this feature roambotics_scott! Though I'm not into
making molded parts yet, I share the frustration you face and I sure hope
Autodesk will take notice of this and provide this coupled adaptive
solution in Fusion!

This would be greate for modelling something with someone, me and several of my friends using it and it takes soo much time, if it had realtime editing feature, it would help a lot, we need this in all autodesk programs ı think.
