Quick Start Tutorial for New Users - CNC start to finish

Quick Start Tutorial for New Users - CNC start to finish

I've spent about 3 days barreling through support, docs, tutorials and videos to get to the point where I can start my first test job.  That is a long time to wait to see your CNC machine working.

I think it would be HUGE for those of us who are novices to have a quick, basic tutorial to get the circle/square/triangle test or something basic from end to end.  Not something that teaches all the points, but something you can follow through and produce something on your shiny new machine.  It would have been so rewarding to be able to run a simple test job the night I had my Shapeoko3 set up.

Personally I think the 3D market is going to be the next silicon valley boom, so if you can make that first run something simple, I see a lot more people going to F360.

I'd also suggest you folks get someone to monitor the Shapeoko Forums, they are going to grow, and if I had seen a thread when I was searching telling me there's a free hobbyist license that is incredibly well documented with tons of videos and great support, I'd have been all over it.  Instead I wasted a week banging my head against a wall with MeshCAM.

Yeah, that's great and all, but it sure didn't come up when I was trying
to find it. I was probably looking for keywords like Fusion360 or
Shapeoko (for instance, search this and see what you get "fusion360
quick start tutorial for new users", or this "fusion360 quick start
tutorial for new users CNC". Might be nice if you folks put a link to
this in your training area.

Personally, I've spent the last 4 days in your forums, learning center
and youtube. Youtube is not my friend, it is a research project (I
screen at least 5 videos to find any one answer). I will say that the
Autodesk videos were great and thorough, but trying to find something
that is worth watching is hit and miss if it doesn't come from your
learning center.

Thanks for your time,

well the best way for you is state what you would like to see done, like how to put a hold in the center of something, just suggestions on what you require to see, the learning material is being updated now.

if you just did a search for fusion 360 and used a date period you will get 00 and 00 of vid's, my vids are just tip's or how to do one thing properly.

if you wont to know how to do something just ask it's a very open and clean forum, we like to help
